The 2018 Rhodes College Environmental Archaeology Field School ran from May 13th thru June 1st. Under the direction of Dr. Kimberly Kasper, the students excavated the house sites of enslaved African Americans found on the plantation landscape of Fanny Dickins ca. 1841 - 1852. This is the eleventh season that Rhodes students have worked to unravel the history of the Ames land base and the lives of its enslaved population during the antebellum period.
