The Nineteenth Annual Ames Plantation Heritage Festival was a huge success. Over 6,000 area residents joined us for a celebration of our rich cultural heritage. The Ames Festival is one of the largest and most diverse heritage events held in the mid-south. A blend of educational demonstrations, hands-on activities, and a wide selection of traditional skills and hand crafted items available for purchase make the festival enjoyable for all ages and interests. This year's event featured well over 200 traditional skills artists, craft vendors, demonstrators, and musicians making this the largest festival ever held at the Ames Plantation. Take a look at these photos for a taste of the festival and plan now to attend next year's event on October 14th, 2017. (We extend a special thanks to photographers Jeff Atwood of Wheaton, IL, & Dr. Stacey Evans of Hernando, MS.
